Rose Elinor Dougall – Stop/Start/Synchro 2011

March 7, 2011

I wasn’t really in to We Are The Pipettes-era Pipettes and I think that how they are now, with Gwenno and her sister Ani as the quite good, more 80s-inspired and much less-shrill pop group The Pipettes and Rose Elinor Dougall with her moodier, lush-orchestrated songs, is very good.

Stop/Start/Synchro was one of the highlights from her album Without Why and has been around since 2009 but it’s been polished and reswizzled a bit to make it even more ‘looking moodily in to the distance’-worthy. The line “but first you need to know that aaah-I’ll never be her” sounds as stunning as ever.
